Alice Walters of Jefferson will be presented with the Greene County Community Impact Award this Sunday, May 3, at 4 pm in courthouse rotunda. All friends and family are invited to attend.
Walters has a long history with Greene County Extension and 4-H, and even now, in the 10th decade of her life, she is active in her church and volunteers at Greene County Elementary daily.
Walters’ nomination for the award stated, “Alice is a volunteer who unselfishly contributes her time, talent, and resources fully for the benefit of others. Though her efforts are difficult to quantify, the impact is priceless.”
The Greene County Community Impact Award was established to recognize an individual or individuals whose activities have an easily recognized impact upon Greene County residents. This is the sixth year the award will be presented. The award was created in 2010 and those honored include Lawrence Geisler, the Town and Country Band, Carson Griffith, Vickie and Tim Robbins, and Doug Hawn.
